Chromatic Theatre and Stage Left Productions invite you to the first public meeting of The Calgary Congress for Equity & Diversity for the Arts (CCEDA) – an intercultural, multi-disciplinary agent of collective action dedicated to fostering a broader appreciation for diverse artists, art forms and arts practices in Calgary’s professional arts sector.

CCEDA is an initiative of Stage Left, being co-produced by Michele Decottignies and Jenna Rodgers of Chromatic Theatre. Founding Members include Ellipsis Tree Collective, In-Definite Arts, Urban Curvz, Third Street Theatre, Mieko Ouchi and Vi An Diep. CCEDA is funded by the Canada Council’s Equity Office and supported by Calgary Arts Development.

Our first public meeting is on Monday, September 28 from noon to 1:00pm, in the Arts Learning Centre (on the first floor of the Arts Commons, just behind the staircase/ next to the cafe). Our plan is simply to provide detail about CCEDA’s purpose, goals and public actions and to invite you to collaborate with us.

This meeting is primarily focused on introducing CCEDA to Calgary’s Theatre community, but all are welcome to attend. Future public meetings will focus on other disciplines and connections with artistic producers who are based in Calgary’s cultural sector.

We invite you to join us in the creative, collegial efforts that are needed to bring about and sustain increased equity and diversity in Calgary’s professional arts sector.

Please RSVP your attendance to cceda@stage-left.org by Friday, September 25.
