Helmut’s Big Day at the Calgary and Edmonton Fringe Festivals!

Helmut’s Big Day is a one-act comedy by James Wade about two soldiers who spend every day patrolling the ancient wall that separates their glorious Great Plain from the barbarous Barren Plain. Only…they’ve forgotten which side is which. When they see a rider approaching from each direction they realize they may have a chance to save their honour and their empire. In 2014 Helmut’s Big Day was the winner of the Alberta Playwriting Competition Grand Prize. The show features performances by Alan Johnson (The Hobbit – Storybook Theatre) and Emma Sinclair (The Tighty Whities Present Smee’s Secret). The production will be directed and set-designed by Kathryn Smith (A Beautiful View – Sage Theatre).

Calgary – Artpoint Gallery – July 31 to August 8
Edmonton – Venue #7 (Yardbird Suite) – August 13 to 23
