Character Breakdown: She Loves Me
Ilona Ritter (Mezzo-Soprano Range F#3-E5). A woman experienced in both life and men. A bit weary, but enjoys the mentor role. Employed at Maraczek’s Parfumerie, sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.
Steven Kodaly (High Baritone/Tenor Range B2-A4) A handsome ladies’ man. Well respected and liked employee and Maraczeks Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer with the charm to stay out of trouble.
Ladislav Sipos (Baritone Range A2-E4) Family man stuck in a dull existence. Very agreeable, a friend to all. Not the brightest employee at Maraczek’s Pardumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.
Mr. Maraczek (Baritone Range B2-C4) to play 50+. Owner of Maraczek’s Parfumerie, with a commanding presence. A disciplined businessman. A stubborn perfectionist who runs a tight shop. His dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.
Arpad Laszlo (Tenor, Range Bb2-E4) to play 18-25. Bright young delivery boy at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. Ambitious, studious, and adorable.
Waiter (Tenor/Bari-Tenor) The Headwaiter is a proud man with a singular goal. A slightly androgynous, flamboyant café manager who runs a tight ship and expects discretion and efficiency for his patrons. Male, indeterminate age. Comic.
Busboy: A dancer at a romantic restaurant
Mr. Keller : A private investigator with an important secret
Ensemble: Three women and three men. Customers and patrons of Maraczek’s Parfumerie and Café Imperiale.
The roles of Amalia Balash and Georg Nowack have been previously cast and not available for audition through this process.
