Frida y su Reflejo // Frida Through the Looking Glass
By Marina Mair-Sánchez
Frida y su Reflejo is a bilingual multidisciplinary play about Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, whose tumultuous life, filled with beauty and pain, bled into the incredible art she created.
Presented through dance, music, projection and text, this play explores Frida’s life, her political and revolutionary beliefs, her relationship with muralist Diego Rivera, and how all of these shaped and transformed her paintings and self-portraits.
Sunday June 14 at the Nina Haggerty Centre for the Arts.
There will be two performances, at 1:00 pm and at 5:00 pm.

I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it’s true I’m here, and I’m just as strange as you.
