SkirtsAfire HerArts Festival is a multi-disciplinary Arts Festival in Edmonton that features the work of women in theatre, music, dance, comedy, visual art and spoken word. Audiences and artists come together to take in performances, workshops and exhibits that are provocative, passionate, insightful, entertaining and fun. The 4 day Festival coincides with International Women’s Day in early March. In 2015, SkirtsAfire also produced a 10 day run of a new play written by a local playwright as a lead up to the Festival.
The company has seen a great deal of growth in three years and wishes to hire a Festival Manager to work closely with the Festival Director in producing this growing Festival. The Festival Manager will be responsible for administration, marketing, audience and fund development. They will be responsible for managing venues, artists and front of house including supervision of the Box Office Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and Concession Manager for the Festival.
This is a part time contract position averaging about 20 hours per week (flexible hours) with extended full time hours during the Festival. Candidates should be passionate about the Festival and ideally have experience in Arts Administration and Event Management. The Festival continues to grow rapidly and there is great potential for this position to grow.
