Attention teens in Edmonton and in Spruce Grove/Stony Plain/Parkland County. Two community sponsorships are coming up to their deadlines on May 1st and on May 5th. Be sure to register for Artstrek and apply for these bursaries ASAP – you could get funding to attend Artstrek at Red Deer College in July!

| Additional details: | Ben was a grade 12 student in the Theatre Arts program at Victoria Composite High School. While returning home from a mime practice on the evening of October 5, 1987, he died in a traffic accident. In memory of this gifted, sensitive, and dedicated young man, his family and friends established a bursary fund. This bursary enables other young people to experience the joy of learning which Ben did in the Artstrek program. Of the money available for this bursary, two-thirds are from Ben’s own savings. |
| Program: | Horizon Stage Artstrek Scholarships – Funded by the Horizon Stagelighters Society & the Theatre Advisory Board |
| Eligibility: | Students age 12 – 18 who have completed grade 7, or higher, at a school in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, or Parkland County and are successfully registered for Artstrek. |

| More information: | Two FULL scholarships are available. May be used for any of the three Artstrek programs. Students must submit a scholarship application letter to Horizon Stage that includes: • details about their experiences in theatre studies and/or theatre production. • their plans for future involvement in theatre. • how attending Artstrek will help them accomplish their goals. • their full address and contact information. Factors such as academic excellence and financial need will also be taken into account. |
