Audition (Edmonton): Summer Apprentice – Toy Guns Dance Theatre

11156248_1622277514670625_9068774496608436071_nToy Guns is launching an incredibly ambitious summer season (May-August) with performances throughout June, July, and August. We will be touring large scale productions as well as performing locally as part of multiple festivals and major events. We would love to have you join us on this amazing journey!

We are looking for four passionate apprentices to train and perform with Edmonton’s Best Dance Company (according to Vue Magazine). As a Toy Guns Apprentice you will be paid a performer stipend for major performances, we offer extensive training throughout the season with 6 technique classes weekly in addition to guest workshops, you will gain valuable experience working with professional artists, and become part of our network of artists which will give you priority when we are casting future projects and productions.

Ideally we are looking for:
1 female advanced level dancer
1 male advanced level dancer
1 female actor with movement training
1 male actor with movement training

Auditions will take place:
May 1st at 9am
May 3rd at 6pm
(approximately 1.5 hrs)
@ S.J.I. (11024 Whyte Ave)

Auditions will include a short technique class, improvised movement work, learning a piece of company repertoire and if shortlisted a questionnaire and/or interview (but we are really nice so it will be more fun then it sounds)

To book an audition time, or for more information, contact our general manager:

*We don’t require you to prepare anything for the audition but if you have any specific skill you would like to demonstrate you are welcome to (in the past we have had people sing, tell jokes, traditional filipino dancing, gymnastics/tumbling, as well as feats of flexibility and strength)
