Workshops by Request scheduled for April 2015 include:
Character Mask in Calgary
On April 4–5, Edmonton’s Brian Dooley — Director of Play Development at The Citadel Theatre, and Directeur artistique et général of L’UniThéâtre — travelled down to Calgary to work with actors, directors, dancers and any other artists who wish to explore new methods of performance and creation. This workshop, hosted by Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre, introduced artists to a variety of masks while they explored their transformational power as an acting and improvisational tool.
Character Development in Edmonton
On April 12, Elope Musical Theatre will host a Character Development workshop with actress, vocal coach, and Artstrek instructor Alana Hawley. Alana will be helping actors tap into their 1920’s era New York characters before their upcoming production of Guys and Dolls.
Stage Makeup in Canmore
Also on April 12, the Pine Tree Players will host a Stage Makeup workshop with Sharon Toohey. Sharon has worked on the AMC series Hell on Wheels and several major motion pictures. The Pine Tree Players will get some pointers before their upcoming production of Arsenic and Old Lace.
