Evergreen Theatre is pleased to announce its 2015-16 season – featuring new work and explorations by professional artists from across Alberta.
Evergreen’s newest touring show, premiering in winter 2016, will be The Legend of Four: A Science Fantasy by Ellen Chorley. This medieval adventure through the imagination will explore the four classical elements (earth, air, water, and fire) and our relationship to the world around us.
The Big Green Puppet Bus will feature a brand new show as well as a seasonal favourite. We’re very excited to debut The Three ARRRs by Jacqueline Russell – a ridiculous romp through the recycling, reusing, and rethinking waste. This high-energy musical show features pirates, sock monkeys, and much more. It will take a very special young person to break the dreaded Curse of the Dump!
In October, the Bus welcomes the return of BOO! Thrills, Chills, and Repurposing Skills by Valmai Goggin. Join Morgan the Mummy and his friends as they monster mash their way to an eeeko-friendly Halloween!
In addition to these engaging productions, Evergreen’s 2015-16 season will feature our innovative residency program and the return of Puppet Camp – our summer program that is unlike any other in Calgary.
All this, and we’re moving! In September 2015, we will officially take up residence in our newly purchased home – the Evergreen Community Spaces in Mayland Heights. Renovations are underway on this 24,000 sq ft facility that will feature a dozen professional studios, offices, and storage space. Perfect for dance classes, rehearsals, health and wellness, workshops, recitals, special events, and more. We have already begun booking the Spaces for leases and rentals – contact us for more info and a tour of our new home – Calgary’s newest arts and community hub.
It’s a new season of change, innovation, and imagination for Evergreen Theatre. We hope you and your family will join us on these new adventures. Check out our website for more info on our programming and the Evergreen Community Spaces: www.evergreentheatre.com
Here’s to another season of incredible new work throughout Calgary’s arts community!
