CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Daphna Feygenbaum – 22-25; Liam and Jonah’s first cousin; smart, too smart for her own good;  entitled;  two thirds body, one third hair; thick, intense, curly, frizzy, long brown hair (and personality to match); just back from her birthright voyage; bent on preserving family tradition; desperate to preserve tradition at any cost and her dream of marrying her Israeli boyfriend and moving back to Israel. 

Liam Haber – 24-28; Daphna’s cousin; wire-rim glasses; U of Chicago Asian studies PhD student; former Fulbright scholar in Japan; has as much of a sense of humor as an overdue library book; skier, fit, but on the thin side; firstborn; entitled.

Jonah Haber – 19-22; Liam’s younger brother; sometime UVM sophomore; less lanky than his brother; less brainy; more brawn; more heart.

Melody – 24-28; Liam’s girlfriend; majored in Opera; stick straight blond hair, which she wears with the barrette to be extra cute; mousy -granola; she works for a nonprofit.

Please use “BAD JEWS audition submission” in the subject line and include the audition city and role in the body of the email.  

Successful applicants will be contacted and provided with sides and further details. 

Theatre Calgary encourages submissions from artists of all ethno-cultural backgrounds. Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition
