WORKSHOP: Audition Basics with Kelly Reay
Spring is audition season, and The Pumphouse Theatre is pleased to be offering a workshop designed to teach audition basics for newcomers, and to help improve audition skills for experienced actors. This workshop will focus on the audition process and developing the tools required for delivering consistent and honest auditions. Workshop attendees will receive hands-on coaching from an established director with over 15 years experience as a theatre professional.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Kelly Reay is an award winning theatre director based in Calgary. He is the former Artistic Director of Sage Theatre (2004-2014), and has also directed productions for Vertigo Theatre, Shadow Theatre, Downstage, Lunchbox Theatre, Ghost River Theatre, Swallow-a-Bicycle, University of Calgary, Red Deer College, and a numerous indie ventures. Directing highlights include Blowfish, Trainspotting (Betty Mitchell Award, Outstanding Direction), Hedwig and The Angry Inch, Scorched, Girl in the Goldfish Bowl, Polygraph, Jack Goes Boating (Sage Theatre), The Woman in Black, Dial M For Murder (Vertigo Theatre), Super 8 (Lunchbox Theatre), Palace of the End (co-director) and The Dishwashers (Downstage), and William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead (Red Deer College).
