Mat is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s BFA acting program. Some of his recent work includes the role of Thomas Tjubb in “The Jazz Mother” and Miles Abbott-Ellis in “Whiplash Weekend”, both with Teatro La Quindicina, the latter for which he received a Sterling award for outstanding performance by an actor in a supporting role. He was also seen recently in Workshop West theatre’s production of “The Invention of Romance” as James. Mat has also taken part in many Fringe festivals throughout the years including the plays “The Deep Blue Sea”, “Mojo Mickeybo”, “Maggie-Now”, and many more. He is currently rehearsing the show “First Time, Last Time” with Shadow Theatre.
Edmonton Scene Study
Edmonton Scene Study is for emerging and professional theatre practitioners (actors, directors, playwrights…) to share in the reading of plays.
The world of theatre is so rich and vast that we should be encouraged to explore it. Not only does the play come to life as we read it aloud, it broadens our knowledge of theatre, our skills in cold reading and warms the relationships we have in this theatre community. All theatre lovers are invited to join the group, enjoy meeting fellow artists, and share a scene from a play.
Edmonton Scene Study will be hosted once a month, so please come and be inspired and join the Edmonton Scene Study group on facebook for all updates.
Sincerely,
Brianne Jang
