6 Minute Warning is a professional Edmonton-based a cappella pop/R&B vocal group that is currently accepting auditions for a tenor position. The group is unique in presenting contemporary and original music in exciting vocal arrangements with an extremely high standard of musicianship.
6 Minute Warning has had the pleasure of performing with many talented artists and organizations, including Ben Folds, Glass Tiger, Mark Masri, Ruben Studdard, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and Pro Coro Canada. The group performs at corporate and charity events in addition to putting on its own concerts. Upcoming performances of note include a collaboration with Citie Ballet company, which will present a fully-realized work for a cappella pop band and dancers. Once we have chosen the newest member we are looking to establish our own concert season, take small tours and increase the exposure of the group through regular social media updates. We are recording our second CD over the next year, to be released in early 2016.

For the beginning of the audition process, please send a recording of you singing a solo pop piece in mp3/m4a format to manager@6minutewarning.com. A song that demonstrates a strong tenor range and good pop style would be ideal – eg, Crazy (Gnarls Barkley), Happy (Pharrell Williams).
The ideal singer will have:
- a strong, confident tenor voice
- extremely strong tuning / tonal center
- confident stage presence
- no problem with light choreography while singing
- experience in singing background parts
- experience singing in a pop/R&B style
- medium to strong sheet music reading ability. If you are able to prepare extremely well in advance this is less of a concern
