Employment Opportunities :: Opera NUOVA :: Vocal Arts Festival
Opera NUOVA has multiple positions to fill on the 2015 Vocal Arts Festival production team. These are positions for emerging artists moving from academia into professional careers. Students returning to school in September will also be considered.
The Vocal Arts Festival runs May 23 to July 4, 2015 and includes 13 Enlightenment Concert events, two fully-orchestrated opera productions: Our Town by Ned Rorem and Dead Man Walking by Jake Heggie; and the musical Oklahoma! by Rogers & Hammerstein. Our Town will be produced at Fort Edmonton Park; while Oklahoma! and Dead Man Walking will be produced at Festival Place in Sherwood Park.
Opera NUOVA seeks to fill the following positions:
• 4 non-Equity Stage Managers
• 2 Scenic Carpenters
• 1 Assistant Technical Director
• 1 Assistant Scenic Designer/ Painter
• 1 Assistant Props Builder
These are all paid, work-study positions were the candidates will have the opportunity to work under professional guidance; in professional shops; on fully-costumed and staged productions with chamber orchestra. Employment begins in early May 2015. The stage managers must be able to read music.
