On December 14, Anita Miotti travelled from Calgary to Grande Prairie to teach a workshop on integrating shadows into theatre peformance to Grande Prairie Live Theatre. Anita is a choreographer/dancer/actor who writes, performs and produces her own work. She is the founding Artistic Director of Theatre of the Living Statue and has created a Balinese style shadow performance at Calgary’s Saddledome stadium for His Holiness The Dalai Lama!
The workshop even made the front page of Daily Herald Tribune in the Monday, December 15th paper! Wayne Ayling, General Manager of GPLT copied us on a great email to Anita about the workshop:
Thank you for coming to Grande Prairie. Your Shadow Performance Workshop was excellent. You were the perfect choice for us. We appreciated that you gave us the full depth of your expert knowledge and experience, your creativity, and your passion for this form of performance art. You were caring and supportive of the participants. Your teaching style works very well for adult learners.
