Due to an impending retirement, we are seeking a full time Technical Director for our 550 seat performing arts centre in one of Canada’s fastest growing cities, Lloydminster, Alberta. Reporting to the General Manager, the Technical Director oversees and executes all activity related to stage and backstage areas of the theatre including lighting, sound, projection, special effects, stage and backstage management, equipment acquisition & maintenance, and building operations related to the theatre.
As the successful candidate, you have graduated from an accredited training institution and have at least three years’ experience in one or more of the above areas, including two years or more in a management capacity.
As a team leader with a sense of humour, you enjoy working with a variety of users of the facilities including educational institutions, professional artists, business clients, non-profit groups and impresarios from across Canada. You understand quick turnarounds, accommodating different demands, scheduling and juggling resources to make things work seamlessly. You can stand back and watch your work unfold before you or you can grab a headset and take charge for the good of the show.
