Theatre Alberta’s annual Gift-A-Play campaign, in support of Canada’s largest fully-circulating, independent theatre library, is once again upon us! We are asking for your help to add to our most valuable resource.

How does Gift-A-Play work? Well, we created a ‘Wish List’ on Amazon of titles that our Library would like to add to our collection. Simply choose a title (or more) from our Wish List and give it to Theatre Alberta for Christmas! We have included the shipping address in our profile, so the books will be shipped directly to our Library in Edmonton (no need to worry about wrapping!). And, if the value of your order is more than $25, shipping is free!

You are also welcome to purchase plays on our Wish List from retailers other than Amazon. Just be sure to click the button that says ‘Buying this gift elsewhere?’ on the right of the Amazon book description, so that the title is removed from our Wish List (and we avoid receiving the same gift twice). If you prefer, you are also welcome to make a monetary donation directly to Theatre Alberta at https://www.theatrealberta.com/donate.

If the title you want to give is already gone, none of the books match your price point, or if you’d rather not pay for shipping fees, then we would love to receive an Amazon gift card as much as a book. You can choose the amount you wish to give and email us the gift card directly. Theatre Alberta will pool all gift cards together at the end of the campaign to make one grand purchase of titles in the new year.

Every book we receive during this campaign—whether given to us directly or purchased with gift cards—will be marked with a 2014 Gift-A-Play sticker, bearing the name of the donor. If your gift or donation to our Library, is worth $20 or more Theatre Alberta can provide you with a tax receipt.

This is a different way to donate to Theatre Alberta during the holiday season that directly impacts one of the most comprehensive theatre collections in the country—a resource available to each and every one of our current members.
