Liz Nichols of the Edmonton Journal reported in her theatre blog on Monday that Catalyst Theatre‘s current production of Elephant Wake by Joey Tremblay will be its final production in the C103 theatre space. In September 2015, Catalyst Theatre will become the resident company in the Citadel Theatre’s Maclab Theatre space.

The C103 space (as it has been known since Catalyst rebranded it in 2012) was the venue for many of Catalyst Theatre’s world premieres. The 138 seat space is active approximately thirty weeks each year with performances and rehearsals by Edmonton’s theatre community and festivals. Catalyst Theatre does not own C103, however; the company leases the space from the Edmonton Jazz Society, and its lease is up in August 2015. It is unknown at this time whether C103 will continue to be used as an theatre venue once Catalyst Theatre leaves, and if so, who would operate it.
