Call for Playwrights
To participate in the 2nd Annual
WRITE-A-THON
In support of Alberta Playwrights’ Network

November 14 @ noon to November 15@ noon
Calgary (New APN Office) & Edmonton (Workshop West)

APN Write-A-Thon is like a 24 hour playwriting contest meets a bike-a-thon. Playwrights sign up to write for 24 straight hours (in a room with other playwrights in Edmonton or Calgary) and collect donations through the RaiseAthon.ca website from October 1 to November 15th. Building on the success of 2013’s event, the 2014 APN Write-A-Thon will provide participants with the camaraderie, space, and time to write the first draft of their new play, or finish one (or two) they’re already working on.

Playwrights and /or teams of writers will set a goal for how many pages they can write in 24 hours. All the proceeds for this event will go towards play development workshops, creating new member resources, public staged readings of brand new plays & professional and amateur playwright development courses.

• All writers who complete WRITE-A-THON will receive a complimentary APN one-year membership
• All writers who raise $300 or more will receive a complimentary Act One Service (script consultation)!
• We will have Dramaturgical help onsite so you can keep going!
• There will be great prizes for the most money raised!
• All the coffee and snacks you can conceivably consume!
