Call for Submissions (Alberta): 2015 Writers’ Guild of Alberta Banff Writing Retreat

WGA-Color-Logo-2012The Writers’ Guild of Alberta’s annual Banff Retreat will take place January 30 –February 8, 2015 at The Banff Centre. This self-guided retreat is a great opportunity to connect with fellow writers and enjoy uninterrupted writing time at the world’s largest arts and creativity incubator.

Writers at any stage of their career or writing project are welcome to join in. We are encouraging playwrights in particular to join us this year since our 2015 Writer-in-Residence is Tololwa M. Mollel , internationally recognized children’s author, dramatist, storyteller and teacher. Tololwa has extensive experience as a writing instructor and writer-in-residence for all literary forms, yet his specialized experience in writing for the stage should make this year’s retreat a particularly welcoming experience for writers working on plays.

The deadline for registrations is November 14, 2014. The deadline for submitting a manuscript for the Writer-in-Residence to review is December 14, 2014.

Prices:
Full Retreat (January 30 – February 8): $1,150 WGA members, $1,220 non-members (non-member rate includes 1-year WGA membership)

Half Retreat (January 30 – February 3 or February 4-8): $690 WGA members, $760 non-members (non-member rate includes 1-year WGA membership)

(All prices are inclusive of GST)
