Julie ‘s life is a full and tidy one – a life squeezed between work as a data technician and yoga classes. Health conscious, she eats well and exercises regularly, determined to reduce stress with the requisite herbal teas and cleanses. One night, she arrives home and is surprised to find a crow flying frenetically around her loft. This discovery is complicated with the unexpected arrival of her talkative and impulsive mother, dragging in her luggage and her unflagging ability to induce guilt. Over the course of the next several days, her mother settles in, and a series of bizarre events begin to occur. Julie, suffocated by her mother’s presence and disturbed by the crow’s incessant cawing, does her best to reclaim a sense of calm.
A play that is as serious as it is funny, explores that delicate relationship between mother and daughter where dependence and letting go, go hand in hand.
