About myself:
I’m a Calgary based playwright, performer, documentary-theatre maker, podcaster, etc. I’m the Co-AD of Verb Theatre, the Artistic Director of Inside Out Theatre, and a member of the Downstage Creation Ensemble. I’m primarily focused on new work creation, often through interview-based processes, collective creation, or community collaboration. I’ve been lucky to premiere new works, either as a playwright or co-creator, at the High Performance Rodeo, ATP’s playRites Festival, and the Calgary International Children’s Festival over the last few years, and last fall my play Jim Forgetting was published by Scirrocco. I also try very hard to be a generous collaborator and get really excited finding new collaborators and I’d love to have a partner for these projects. Speaking of…

About the projects:

XL Temporary: Developed Independently
Brooks Alberta, population 13 000, is on a per capita basis one of the most ethnically diverse municipalities in Canada. This is due in large part to the presence of hundreds of Temporary Foreign Workers living there, mostly working at the countries largest meat packing plant. The project explores the lives and experiences of Temporary Foreign Workers in Brooks and their cultural impact on this small prairie town.

Time to… ummm (commissioned by Y Stage)
A teen verbatim show investigating the sometimes overscheduled, sometimes under-supervised lives of teenagers. Looking to discover what teens are doing with their time, and what they dream about doing instead.

The Dandelion Project (produced by Verb Theatre)
Exploring the quickly evolving and controversial landscape of Doctor Assisted Suicide through interviews with family members and friends of those who’ve ended their life, doctors, and advocates. The Dandelion Project premiered in the spring of 2013 and we are continuing development while the issue continues to shift and advance.
