Workshops by Request are coordinated by Theatre Alberta at your request and targeted to the specific needs of your theatre organization. Workshops in both technical and non-technical aspects of theatre bring highly trained professionals to your community for one, one and a half, or two-day workshops.
Workshops by Request scheduled for September 2014 include:
Character Development in Lethbridge
On September 20th, Valerie Ann Pearson will travel from Calgary to Lethbridge to lead a one-day workshop in Character Development for the Playgoers of Lethbridge. The aim of the workshop is to help actors in the company begin the important work of fleshing out their characters before rehearsals begin.
Stage Combat in Camrose
On September 20 – 21, Churchmice Players will welcome Jonathan Purvis to teach a two-day workshop on Stage Combat, specifically looking at sword play. The Players are producing The Three Musketeers in March 2015, so we look forward to seeing some of their newfound skills on stage in the spring.
Acting/Directing in Wetaskiwin
On September 27th, the Waterworks Theatre Players will host Greg Dowler-Coltman from Edmonton to teach a one-day workshop on Acting and Directing. Greg is a long-time theatre instructor and has been the co-curriculum director of Theatre Alberta’s Artstrek for many years!
Congratulations Peak Theatre Players!
By hosting a workshop (Directing with Kelly Reay), and having the participants fill out the WbR Online Follow-up Survey, we are pleased to announce that Peak Theatre Players of Sundre has won our draw for a free one-day Workshop by Request for 2014/2015!
Workshops by Request applications are accepted throughout the year. We are now accepting applications for Workshops by Request for the 2014/2015 season!
