Arden of Faversham Auditions
Artists’ Collective Theatre will be producing Arden of Faversham in 2015. The Royal Shakespeare Company believes it was partly authored by William Shakespeare. Arden of Faversham is a domestic tragedy depicting the murder of Thomas Arden, by his wife and her lover. As the title page of the work states, it is to show “the great malice and dissimulation of a wicked woman, the insatiable desire of filthy lust, and the shameful end of all murderers”. Our production will be directed by Bard on the Beach co-founder Christopher Weddell. We believe this may be the Canadian premiere.
Christopher will be in Calgary for his Shakescenes Workshop (see http://acttheatre.ca for more information) . He will be holding auditions for Arden on Friday the 12th of September. Auditioners will be asked to perform two contrasting Shakespeare monologues. Callbacks will be on the evening of the 13th.
Email headshot and resume to info@acttheatre.ca before September 9th if you are interested in a slot. Subject line: Your name, Arden audition. Only those selected will be contacted.
