What’s On (Edmonton Fringe): Mind Games – Newman Mentalism

Newman-Mentalism-Poster-With-Billiard-Club-LogoWelcome to a different kind of magic: Jeff Newman will read your mind. No floating balls. No women sawed in half. No rabbits in hats.

In this 60-minute production, Newman uses his background in science, suggestion, and good old-fashioned trickery to influence, predict, and determine the thoughts of others. After years of studious work learning the psychology of the mind, Jeff combines his favorite techniques with humor and charm to create a one-of-a-kind experience. This year, the Edmonton Fringe’s theme “Fringed and Confused” gives a nod to the festival’s roots, and Newman acknowledges his own history by weaving and blending anecdotes of his journey to becoming a mentalist.

Experience the mystique as Newman makes you gasp, laugh and cheer – no rabbits required.

“Watching Jeff perform is so perfect it’s like watching a fish swim. A clown fish actually, because he’s funny as hell!”
– Wes Barker, Stunt Magician | www.wesbarker.ca
