(Fort McMurray, AB – August 1, 2014) – Keyano Theatre Company is celebrating its 35th season of community theatre in Fort McMurray and the first round of open auditions are being held August 9 and 10.
A Christmas Carol will be the second play in this season’s 4 Play Drama Series at Keyano Theatre, with show dates in November. The Charles Dickens classic tale will be re-told by community volunteers in the adaptation script written by last season’s Les Misérables Director Claude A. Giroux and directed by newcomer Jacqueline Russell from Calgary.
“I lived in Fort McMurray in the early 1980s, so I am very excited to return after all these years for A Christmas Carol auditions,” said Director Jacqueline Russell. “I have heard nothing but amazing things about the arts community at Keyano Theatre, I can’t wait to see it for myself.”
The production team is looking for a mixed cast of people ages five to 50-and-over to play principal and ensemble roles. Everyone is welcome to audition, no prior experience is necessary.
Auditions will be held at the Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre, 8115 Franklin Avenue:
• Saturday, August 9, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and,
• Sunday, August 10, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with potential callbacks later that afternoon.
