Dennis Garnhum

June 11 – Theatre Calgary’s Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum has been named as a recipient of a 2013 Calgary Award. Presented by the Mayor and Members of Council, 17 awards recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions made by Calgarians.

Dennis will receive the Community Achievement Award for Arts. The Community Achievement Awards recognize outstanding contributions to and achievement in community life and provide an opportunity to honour Calgary’s exceptional citizens.

In 1994, The City of Calgary established the Calgary Awards to celebrate and recognize outstanding achievements and contributions made by Calgarians. Each year, individuals, corporations, community groups, schools and organizations are nominated in five major categories, for a total of 17 awards.

The City of Calgary encourages all Calgarians to look to their neighbours, colleagues, community leaders, and local organizations and businesses for those who qualify as recipients of the Calgary Awards.
