The Pumphouse Theatre is proud to announce that this summer marks the 30th anniversary of our popular Summer Drama Day Camps! We are thrilled to bring you yet another season of excellent programming for Calgary youth.
Our summer camp program is an introductory course that focuses on teaching the basics of theatre with an emphasis on creative personal growth. Participants will also learn respect for the theatre space and other performers while having fun! Each day at camp is a new experience. Participants will be divided into mini-classes, covering a variety of acting techniques, speech, movement, playwriting, and stage-craft, with an emphasis on group work that helps to develop social skills on many levels. Throughout camp, participants work together within their age group with the guidance of an instructor and a counselor to put together a play. On the final Thursday of sessions 1,3 and 5, and on the Friday of session 2 and 4 participants will have the opportunity to showcase their new talents to family and friends by performing this group-devised production.
The camp is for children between the ages of 8 and 14, and each session is limited to 50 students.
For class work and performances, each session will be divided into four groups based on participant age.
Theatre experience is not a pre-requisite for this camp, and we welcome and encourage children of any level of experience!
Our camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Pre-Care: 8:00 am – 8:45 am
Post-Care: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

A $50.00 multi-child discount applies to campers who register with a sibling.
