News (Alberta): Congratulations to winners of 2014 ADFA Provincial One-Act Festival

ADFA 2014 - Best Production Celebration

Congratulations to Just Because Theatre from Fort McMurray, winners of Outstanding Production at the Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA) Provincial Festival, which took place May 2 – 3 in Grande Prairie! The full list of award winners included:

Award for Technical Merit
Zakk MacDonald, Fight Direction for PISTACHIO CRUMBLE, Calgary region

Outstanding Actress
Florence Maione, HEART IN THE GROUND, Foothills region

Outstanding Actor
Stephen Buoninsegni, HEART IN THE GROUND, Foothills region

Outstanding New Play (Sponsored by Alberta Playwrights’ Network, Awarded to playwright)
COWORKERS by AJ Baragar, Chinook region

Outstanding Director
Madeleine Stout & Tai Amy Grauman for FAITH, Edmonton region

Outstanding Production

Special thanks to Grande Prairie Live Theatre (GPLT) for hosting (and providing the confetti canon). Congratulations to all eight finalist productions, and all the companies who competed in regional festivals as well. In other news: the 2014 Alberta High School Provincial Drama Festival takes place this weekend at Red Deer College. Theatre Alberta Programmer Frazer Andrews and Communications & Marketing Coordinator Aaron Talbot will be there to take in the plays and promote Artstrek.
