Keyano Theatre Celebrates 35th Season
Since the summer of 1980 when A Midsummer Night’s Dream premiered on stage at Keyano Theatre as a trial production, the community of Fort McMurray has been celebrating a deep connection to arts and culture through live performances.
October 2014 marks the opening of Keyano Theatre Company’s 35th season of live theatre with four exciting shows to add to the company’s repertoire of over 160 productions. The 4-Play Drama Series will open with a heart-warming comedy by Canada’s most produced playwright, Norm Foster who is also a featured actor in the play he titled On A First Name Basis.
“This will be the Alberta premiere for Mr. Foster’s new play,” said Alan Roberts, Director, Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre.
“We are very fortunate to have such a prolific Canadian playwright play on our stage to help us celebrate our 35th season.”
Audiences will be able to celebrate the magic of the holiday season with their families in November with KTC’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s classic story A Christmas Carol.
The season’s feature musical CABARET opens in February 2015. The popular Tony Award winning Broadway production boasts some of the best-known songs in musical theatre, including “Willkommen” “Maybe This Time” and “Cabaret” by John Kander and Fred Ebb who also created Chicago.
The 2014-2015 season will close with a hilarious farce called Good Night Ladies.
