CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Citadel Theatre is now accepting applications to the Made in Edmonton Cabaret Showcase Series

At the Citadel Theatre, we are committed to providing our city with a diverse array of high-quality theatrical experiences. The Club at the Citadel provides a unique, versatile performance space to the downtown Arts District. This space hosts our Beyond the Stage series; cabarets, after hours jam sessions, workshops, play readings, conversations with our artists and other events you wouldn’t normally see on a main stage, in a beautiful cabaret setting.

In honour of the Citadel’s 50th Anniversary Season (2015-16) and in celebration of the extraordinarily talented Edmonton theatre community, the Citadel is now accepting submissions for a Made in Edmonton Cabaret Showcase Series.

The Citadel Theatre will commission up to a maximum of five original cabaret projects created by Edmonton artists. The Citadel will also commit to developing these projects over the next year to culminate in a Cabaret Showcase Series, in the Club, as part of the 2015-16 50th Anniversary Season.

Successful submissions will receive a commission fee, additional resources towards development of the project, and a Showcase performance in the Club at the Citadel in the 2015-16 50th Anniversary Season.

DEFINITION OF A CABARET: UP TO YOU!

We encourage applications from a variety of artistic and content styles.
In addition to a cover letter, submissions must include names and resumes of artists involved, and a project description.

The deadline for submissions for the Made in Edmonton Cabaret Showcase Series is 5.00pm (MST) May 30, 2014.

Applications to be submitted to nlegrandeur@citadeltheatre.com
All submissions will be considered and interviews will be held in late June 2014.
