The Board of Governors of The Banff Centre announce with regret that President Jeff Melanson has tendered his resignation.

In the next few weeks, the Board will announce a full plan for the transition period to ensure that the Centre’s strategic plan remains on course. This transition plan, expected to be fully in place by September, will be prepared by the Board with support from the leadership team.

Brenda Mackie, Chair of the Board, will immediately begin a search process for a new president.

Melanson is resigning for family reasons and will be returning to Toronto. He was appointed President in January 2012.

“During Jeff’s time with The Banff Centre, he introduced an exciting new vision for our future, and put in place a dynamic and talented team. Jeff has also been instrumental in developing the Peter Lougheed Leadership Institute. He leaves with our very best wishes for his future,” says Mackie.

Melanson says, “It is with regret that I have resigned from my role as President. I believe fully in The Banff Centre, its Board, its staff, and its strategic direction. I will continue to be a champion and promoter of The Banff Centre.”
