NEXTFEST is an multi-displinary emerging artist festival that has been running in Edmonton for fourteen years.  The high school part of the festival runs at the Azimuth Theatre and features performances and art created by high school students.  For more information about Nextfest, please visit our website at www.nextfest.org.   

TEACHERS: Spread the word about Nextfest by forwarding the attached application forms to high school students, posting them on bulletin boards or talking about Nextfest in your classes.  We would love to give as many students as possible the chance to be a part of this festival.

THEATRE PRODUCTION- This application form is for your playwrights or your students that are currently rehearsing a student-written one act play.  Students can submit their work for either a full production or workshop reading.  DUE MARCH 17, 2014

PERFORMANCE CREATION ENSEMBLE– This is a new program for 2014 and we are very excited about it.  As part of the festival, I will be assembling and leading a high school creation ensemble which will showcase their final performance as part of Nextfest 2014.  The creation ensemble will meet twice a week (Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons) and will be made up of 8-16 high school students who display an ability to act, an additional creative skill (writing, composing, choreography, visual design) and the ability to work in an ensemble.   Applications to audition for the performance ensemble are DUE MARCH 17, 2014.
