The Silent Crime: A Play in One Act
The Silent Crime is part of the Pan-Canadian Elder Abuse Awareness and Education Program in Ethno-Cultural Communities. As a participating member of this project, Jewish Family Service Calgary is facilitating programs in an effort to help community members prevent and respond to elder abuse.
Characters
All actors will be working on a volunteer basis.
PAUL: Elderly man in his 70s; confined to wheelchair
SARA: Middle aged woman, PAUL’s daughter
JEFF: Middle aged man, SARA’s boyfriend, lawyer
REBECCA: 18 year old girl, SARA’s daughter
NURIT: middle aged woman, social worker
TEENAGE BOY: 18-20 years old
TEENAGE GIRL: 18-20 years old
NARRATOR: Any age, asks audience questions regarding what they saw.
Please note that all characters can be played by actors of any gender, including the couple. Names may be changed accordingly.
Audition Dates: March 25 and 26, 2014
Audition Location: Provided upon audition booking
Show Dates: Various between June 2014 and (possibly) December 2014. Five shows total.
Please come prepared with one contemporary, dramatic monologue, and bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume with you to the audition.
