Event (Edmonton): March Edmonton Scene Study – Grindstone Theatre

grindstone-logoHello fellow Theatre Practitioners!

What: Edmonton Scene Study
Who: Grindstone Theatre (Special guest hosted by Bob Baker)
Where: Citadel Theatre Board Room
When: Monday March 3, 7-10pm
*Please email [email protected] to RSVP if you are able to attend.

Edmonton Scene Study is for emerging and professional theatre practitioners (actors, directors, playwrights…) to share in the reading of plays. The world of theatre is so rich and vast that we should be encouraged to explore it. Not only does the play come to life as we read it aloud, it broadens our knowledge of theatre, our skills in cold reading and warms the relationships we have in this theatre community. All theatre lovers are invited to join the group, enjoy meeting fellow artists, and share a scene from a play.

Special Guest Host Bob Baker
The 2012-2013 Season marked Mr. Baker’s 13th year as Artistic Director at the Citadel Theatre. Mr. Baker has received four Dora Award (Toronto) nominations for Outstanding Direction (Breaking the Code; Into the Woods; Angels in America Part I and Angels in America Part II) and received the award for directing B-Movie, The Play. Locally, Mr. Baker has three Sterling Awards (Edmonton) for Best Director (Popcorn, Cabaret and The Pillowman) and three nominations for Best Director for “Art”; Measure for Measure and West Side Story.
