Classes (Calgary): Spring Theatre classes and camp for ages 7-15 – Theatre A Go-Go

CURRICULUM INTEGRATED THEATRE CLASSES FOR HOMESCHOOLERS AGED 8-15
WHO: Ages 8-12
WHAT: THE BEAR WHO STOLE THE CHINOOK (Guest artist TBD) – Imagine Alberta as it is explained through a Native Legend and the tale told of the Bear who stole the Chinook. Players will create their own character mask and explore the animal characters of this Siksika Legend. Through movement and storytelling, players will play and express, with confidence, for the community at the end of the session. These classes are connected to the Alberta Education Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum.
WHEN: Mondays April 7 – June 23 @12:45-2:45pm (10 classes and three extra hours for Celebration of Learning – no class April 21 & May 19)
INVESTMENT: Regular = $270.00/player
Discount = $230/player if registered by Feb. 19 or for members of: the same family, Parkdale Community, Calgary Kids Club, Morpheus Theatre)

WHO: Ages 12-15

SPRING BREAK THEATRE CAMP FOR AGES 7-14
WHO: 7—14 years
WHAT: THE ADVENTURES OF KING ARTHUR – Imagine the land of Camelot where Knights, Damsels, Magicians and Dragons struggle between that which is right and that which is wrong. Players will explore their voices and bodies to express their characters with confidence. Players will create a prop and use it to play with an adaptation of an Arthurian legend. Players will develop their communication skills to share their story with friends and family on the last day of camp.
WHEN: Monday March 24 – Friday March 28 from 9:00AM-4:00PM (36 hours including one hour for Celebration of Learning)
INVESTMENT: Regular = $279.00/player
Discount = $239/player if registered by Feb. 19 or for members of: the same family, Parkdale Community, Calgary Kids Club, Morpheus Theatre)

WHERE: All classes take place at the Morpheus Rehearsal Centre in the Parkdale Community Centre (3512 5 Ave. N.W.) There will be a Celebration of Learning on the last day of classes, with details TBD, but will include costumes, props and set, supplied by Theatre A Go-Go.
