CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ARTISTS

Theatre Transit is thrilled to announce the anticipated return of our fundraiser: the Mayday! Cabaret!

The Mayday! Cabaret! offers the unique opportunity for artists, musicians, playwrights, directors, and actors to come together and develop original work in a cabaret-style venue. This is our major fundraiser for the 2014-2015 season and it will allow us to continue to produce and develop new work next season. For more information about who we are and what we do, check out our website http://www.theatretransit.ca

We are looking for 5-10 minute pieces and this year the theme we have chosen is “Collision” – whatever that means to you. Collision of the heart. Collision of minds. Collision of cars. It’s a jumping off point for whatever great piece you create.

We are open to any and all proposals: short plays, music, dance, spoken word, movement, poetry, burlesque, etc.

Show date will be Saturday, May 3 2014 at the Alexandra Centre in Inglewood. There will be food, booze, music and amazing acts!

If you are interested in being a part of this exciting event, please submit a short project proposal to info@theatretransit.ca proposal deadline is midnight, FRIDAY MARCH 7, 2014.

Proposals should be 100-300 words and indicate the general outline/structure of your piece, as well as any technical requirements. Please submit script if possible/applicable. You can apply with a group
or as a solo artist looking to work on a project or help out backstage.

Mayday! It’s going to be a blast!

We look forward to seeing what you come up with.
