Audition (Calgary): 2014-15 General Auditions – Theatre Calgary

theatrecalgary_logoTheatre Calgary will be holding General Auditions on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13 (10:00am – 3:00pm) and WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12 (3:00pm – 8:00pm), 2014, in Calgary.

Artists are invited to submit their headshots and resumes for General Audition consideration who: • Have completed a post-secondary training program or have previous professional acting experience. • Have not been on the Theatre Calgary stage since 2006. • Have not had a general audition at Theatre Calgary since 2011.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues – one classical and one modern of which one is tragic and one lighthearted – totalling no more than 4 minutes. It does not matter which one is tragic and which one is lighthearted.

All submissions (for both audition dates) must be received or postmarked by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2014. Only successful applicants will be contacted with an audition time slot. If you have any questions about what you need to prepare, please email Susan McNair Reid, Company Manager.

*If you have limited availability for these days, please include that information in your submission for ease of scheduling. We will do our best, but may not be able to accommodate all requests. Unfortunately we do not accept video submissions for our general auditions.

*If you do not require a General but wish to send your updated headshot and/or resume for our files, please feel free to do so to the same address/email as above, subject line “UPDATED HEADSHOT/RESUME”.

Theatre Calgary’s 2014/15 season will be announced in mid-spring, please check our website for the date as it becomes available.

Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to any audition. Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement. Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.

Theatre Alberta does not necessarily endorse the organizations and/or individuals submitting Classified listings on our site. It is the responsibility of each patron using the Theatre Alberta Classifieds to research the integrity of the organizations who submit listings to which they are applying/responding and to verify specific information, especially pertaining to the job/audition listings and youth listings.
