The new five-show Teatro season opens at the end of May with a revival The Jazz Mother. Jocelyn Ahlf, Mat Busby and Kristi Hansen star in the production that runs May 29 to June 14. Lucy and Mr. Plate, premièring June 19 to 28, is a sequel to Citizen Plate. This new play will be created by the team of Jeff Haslam, Jana O’Connor and Stewart Lemoine. Teatro’s July production (July 10 to 26) revives a classic 1963 Broadway comedy: Barefoot in the Park, and stars Rachel Bowron and Ryan Parker. Teatro’s Fringe presence is a new original Lemoine, still unannounced, stars Andrew MacDonald-Smith, Mathew Hulshof, Shannon Blanchet, Amber Bissonnette, Belinda Cornish and Jenny McKillop. The season finale, and Teatro’s final production at the current Varscona before its makeover, is a revival of Lemoine’s 2008 hit Happy Toes. The production, which runs Oct. 2-18, reassembles the original cast: Julien Arnold, Jeff Haslam, Ron Pederson, Davina Stewart, and Leona Brausen.
