All Stages – Theatre Alberta’s tri-annual magazine examining the theatre community in Alberta – is pleased to introduce our newest regular feature, Foils: two contrasting opinions, viewpoints or processes published side-by-side in our magazine.
In the Winter 2013 installment of Foils, Meg Braehm and Rebecca Northan provided two very unique and different perspectives on the process of writing new plays. Meg takes us through her playwriting process: from inspiration, into edits, drafts, and workshops; while Rebecca shares how her interactive and improv based shows are created. Click here to read a PDF of their articles.
However, we realize that there are more than two playwriting processes utilized in Alberta, and in fact we want your perspective on how you make plays. What’s your writing process? Do you write at all? What do you do differently?
Offer your Foil at theatrealberta.com/all-stages/submit, and we will publish it online and share on social media.
All Stages will continue to run Foils for every edition, and we hope the wider Albertan theatre community will contribute their ideas and opinions on each issue discussed. Let’s continue the conversation and talk more about our province’s unique theatrical landscape!
