Drama Instructor Position
The Pumphouse Theatre is currently accepting applications for a Drama Class Instructor to teach our Saturday morning Drama Exploration Winter Class.
The focus of this class is on storytelling and character development. There is also a big part of the class devoted to improvisation games. Drama class activities include the exploration of acting, improvisation, creative movement, voice and storytelling. The goal of the classes is to develop the social interaction skills and life skills of the participants through the utilization of theatrical techniques culminating in a final, group-developed production.
Potential candidates must be available to teach Saturday mornings from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm . With classes beginning January 18, 2014 and running until March 22, 2014.
Skills Required:
- Possess the ability to supervise and instruct young students between the ages of 7-11 and have previous experience in this area.
- Have a solid understanding of the creative theatre process.
- Display strong communicative and interpersonal skills .
- Be committed to the creative development and theatrical education of participants .
- Know how to have fun!
