First up, Patrick Beagan will lead a lighting workshop October 19 – 20, that will cover designing lighting plots, hanging and focusing lights, as well as running the board. The workshop will utilize the equipment in the Main Stage auditorium of the Red Deer Memorial Arts Centre. Before moving to Edmonton, Patrick was the Technical Manager of that space, and is looking forward to returning to his old stomping grounds.

Next, Joanne Jacobson will lead a make-up workshop on October 26 in the Black Knight Inn Studio at CAT Studios. This workshop will focus on aging and fantasy make-up. Joanne is an Alberta-based makeup artist and has instructed numerous Workshops by Request for Theatre Alberta.

In November, we are looking forward to finalizing details for another makeup workshop in Drumheller for Kaleidoscope Theatre.

Workshops by Request applications are accepted throughout the year. Any community theatre group in Alberta may apply for a workshop through the Workshops by Request program, on any topic of their choice. Professional development opportunities sponsored by a professional theatre company are also considered for support through the program.
