This new play by Franco-Albertan Joëlle Préfontaine explores the particular tensions of a rural Alberta family. A brutal and tragic history haunts Renée and Ray, a brother and sister, struggling to come to terms with both a difficult past and an uncertain future. « Récolte » examines the lives of those who desperately cling to hope and to each other, but whose day to day hardships weaken their grasp on that hope and test the love and loyalty of family.
« Récolte » is an expression of love, of blood, sweat and fears – the fears we confront when letting go of our past.
« Récolte » boldly declares: ‘ If you don’t have family, you don’t have shit !’
Récolte is a play wirtten by Franco-Albertan Joëlle Préfontaine from Legal, Alberta. Both English and French are used in the play and it does have strong language. May not be suitable for children under 16 years of age.
