U of A Studio Theatre opens with the gutsy pool (no water)
U of A Studio puts the artistic impulse at the top of the season with pool (no water)
U of A Studio Theatre’s 2013-14 season puts the artistic impulse at the core of what it means to be human. This is theatre that penetrates, stings and leaves a mark.
The gutsy pool (no water) by acclaimed British writer Mark Ravenhill (Shopping and Fucking) opens the season tonight, diving in on how shallow resentment can run the deep in tight-knit artistic relationships.
A famous artist invites the old community of creative chums to her luxurious home, but when she suffers a horrific accident and lies in a coma, the light is good, the potential for composition is all there and an unimaginable artistic project takes shape.
This is Nancy Maclear’s MFA Directing thesis project.
