1. the science or study of the techniques of secret writing, especially code and cipher systems, methods, and the like. 2. the procedures, processes, methods, etc., of making and using secret writing, as codes or ciphers. 3. anything written in a secret code, cipher, or the like.
CRYPTOGRAPHS is a series of four participatory, installation-puzzles scattered around the Kaleido Festival Site. Each CRYPTOGRAPH is a series of signs and symbols the meaning of which can be deciphered by moving along encoded pathways. By following the visual instructions, audiences will find themselves in fun exchanges with one another. CRYPTOGRAPHS can be repeated and improvised at will, transforming audiences into the actors in their own unique mini-plays.
