Touring schools in Alberta from April 8th, 2014 to May 9th, 2014
A play by Dave Deveau produced by Théâtre la Seizième (Vancouver)Extra-Céleste is the story of a young girl who does not quite fit in at school, or anywhere else in the world. Céleste has always been more comfortable dreaming in her head than talking to other people. Since she doesn’t feel connected to others, she assumes that her real friends and family must live in outer space, on a planet where people see things as she does. She therefore sets out to build a rocket to bring her back to her real “home”. During the process, she encounters both imaginary and real characters that take on funny shapes and forms with the help of animation. As we see the world through her eyes and the tremendous colour and joy that her inner world presents, we realize that seeing things differently can be a wonderful gift.
