Held, by mindhive collective

Everyone’s holding onto something. What does it take to retrace the steps back to the first arms that held you? Held is the latest creation from the acclaimed collective that birthed s/kin and A Wake, exploring what it is to be held and what it means to let go.

Held follows the story of a baby’s last moments in the womb, swimming around in the ancestral soup. Using movement, installation, and dialogue, mindhive collective attempts to untangle and explore the patterns that we inherit to help us cope and survive in a world. Often these patterns, become a hindrance, an annoyance of our mothers that we don’t even know we mirror or re-act. Held pieces together a family history that echoes and reverberates through a child that is about to be born.
