Call for Actors — Open Auditions in Red Deer and Rosebud, Alberta for Three Monologues, a new short play by Andrew Kooman
When: Saturday, August 24, 2013
9-11 a.m. Red Deer at Streams Church 5350 46 Ave Red Deer, AB T4N 3N4
2-5 p.m. Rosebud School of the Arts (venue TBA)
Auditions to cast for the following 3 Roles:
1. Woman in her mid 50s. Description: An intelligent, reflective woman who can yarn a tale. Once quick to laugh, she has learned resilience — and to hide her fragility.
2. Young man in late teens (17-ish). Description: Insightful, self-deprecating and self-aware (enough to recognize he’s terrible at sports and not ashamed to be so, yet not in tune with the fact that he’s a romantic).
3. Young woman in her early 20s. Description: College student with bright ideas, drive and a clearly outlined life plan. Her sister can have the babies, she will have the career.
Please prepare 1 dramatic monologue of no more than 2 minutes in length for the audition. Sides will be available for those who are selected to audition.
Rehearsal schedule: Please be prepared to rehearse between Oct 21 – Nov 1, 2013 in Rosebud, Alberta – Final schedule TBD upon casting, roughly 30 hours total. Initial Script Reading: October 8, 2013
Dress Rehearsal and Performance: afternoon and evening of November 2, 2013 in Red Deer
This is a paid gig.
