Amrita and Grace were also announced as Cosette for Keyano Theatre’s upcoming production of Les Mis.
Three competitions took place over the final weekend of the 23rd annual TransAlta interPLAY Festival. Two of them being the Suncor Homegrown Talent Search, and Keyano Theatre Company’s Search for Cosette.
Both competitions were extremely successful with over 50 participants for the Suncor Homegrown Talent Search and approximately 20 young girls signing up for Keyano Theatre Company’s Search for Cosette.
Keyano Theatre Company’s Search for Cosette starting on August 10 as judges looked for the perfect girl to play Young Cosette, the poster child of the hit Broadway show, Les Miserables. The judges, Claude Giroux, Russell Thomas, Cara Brown and Kim Hurley narrowed down their search to two talented young girls, Amrita and Grace, who were also announced as Cosette at the closing ceremonies August 11. KTC’s production of Les Mis is scheduled for February, 2014.
“We had a fantastic turnout for the Search for Cosette at interPLAY,” says Alan Roberts, Director, Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre. “The festival was the perfect spot for us to begin the buzz about Les Mis and this coveted role. We’re extremely pleased to have found Armita and Grace and we look forward to working with these two talented young ladies as Cosette.”
