We at Teatro La Quindicina have two firm beliefs: 1) You can never have enough music in your life. 2) You can never know too much about that music. So from June 27th to 29th, for four performances only, we’re pleased to be presenting a special musical event in support of these notions. An Expert Guide to the Entirety of Music is a riotous free-wheeling concert/
Prepared with the assistance of intrepid pianist Erik Mortimer and playwright and former record store salesclerk Stewart Lemoine, the program traverses a mind-boggling array of musical genres from the medieval musings of Hildegard von Bingen to the contemporary lyrical effusions of Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, and Boney M, with glorious stops along the way in the world of opera (Camille Saint-Saens), operetta (Gilbert and Sullivan), and the musical theatre (Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin). All selections are sung by the protean-voiced Madame Jocelyn, with informative, amusing, and often outrageous annotations delivered by the whimsically erudite Dr. Jana. You will not see another show like it this season!
An Expert Guide to the Entirety of Music plays at the Varscona Theatre, Thursday June 27th through Saturday, June 29th. The three evening performances are at 7:30pm, and there’s also a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
Evening tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for students and seniors, and $20 for Teatro 2013 subscribers. All matinee tickets are$16.
